Mommy Likes: Cool Gear Travel Potty (giveaway)

Cool Gear Travel Potty

Having a newly potty trained child, I was forewarned that he’d find the need to show off his skills at every single public bathroom in America.   And of course, this means in areas where you not only lock your door, but where stopping at red lights is merely a suggestion, or in an area where there’s no bathroom for miles and miles.  I thought about buying one one of our current potties and keeping it in our car, but with two strollers and a bin full of emergency supplies, space is at a premium.   My friend came across Cool Gear Travel Potty, and ordered one to have on hand when they made their monthly trip out to her in-laws.    I figured she could be the guinea pig and I’d let her daughter be the test driver, and if it was good, I’d order one myself.

Cut to last week, we were at the park one day, and my son was frantically doing “the dance” and adamantly telling me he didn’t have to “go.”   I knew by the looks of him, we’d never make it to the other side of the park where the bathrooms were.   Thankfully, my friend came to the rescue with the foldable travel potty.

I simply took him to a secluded area nearby, quickly set up the potty and let him do his business.   She totally saved the day!!

Needless to say, I’ve since ordered one to have on hand for long car trips.  Or trips to the park.

The travel potty contains everything you need, for on the go potty use.  It folds up compact and unfolds easily.  The handles for kids to hold onto are actually the baggie compartments.  Simply open up one of the sides, grab a bag and snap it in under the seat and you’re ready to go.

One small drawback is that the hole is a little on the small side, so if your kid is a little older, this may pose a problem, but overall, it gets the job done when you’re traveling or in emergency situations.

We’re happy to have one travel potty to give away to one lucky winner.

Mommy Likes the Haba Sunshine Mobile

Haba Sunshine Mobile

Before my son was born, I bought the token battery operated mobile to hang in his crib.   He only liked it for a brief period of time, until it came loose and fell on top of him.  He wasn’t so much a fan of it after that.   When my daughter was born, I did have a battery operated mobile for her crib, but I wanted something to hang over her changing table that was more appealing visually, rather than over sensitizing in movement.   I’ve loved Haba’s products for a long time, and this one was perfect for a little girl’s room.

When my daughter was weeks old, the mobile put her in a curious trance.  Unable to focus on the mobile itself, the slow blurry movement soothed her.  She watched intently.   When she was old enough to see it clearly, she smiled at it during diaper changes.   As she got older, she cooed and laughed at it.  I’d spin it for her, and make the flowers talk, and she’d squeal with delight, “talking” to her friends as they spun by.

While I’ve had to adjust the height on it, so she doesn’t rip it off the ceiling, she still loves her Haba mobile.  At 10 and a half months, she pointed to it the other day, and said “fowa.”

I love that this mobile has given her so much joy over the last year, and that it has required nothing to make it run.  I love that we have our little moments together, “talking” about the flowers and making it spin around.   I love how durable it is and that even when she’s older, I’ll still be able to hang it on her ceiling as a decoration, and remember the memories we made together.

While this one is a bit girly,  Haba makes quite a few mobiles to fit the decor of any baby’s room.   And I’m truly remiss that I didn’t get one for my son when he was a baby.  I know he would have loved it just as much as she has.

GET IT: Pick up a Haba Sunshine Mobile at Baby Oliver’s Boutique or on Amazon.com!

Mommy Likes The Greenzy’s (Giveaway)

Greenzy Violet the Giraffe

I’d like to introduce you to Greenzy’s! Greenzy’s is an eco-friendly children’s brand, promoting green living through stuffed animals and books that are environmentally safe, fun and educational.  The soft cuddly plush toys are made in socially responsible factories from soy fibers and non-toxic dyes with packaging made from recycled paperboard. When you purchase one of these cute animals, a tree is planted. Your child can personalize a printable, digital certificate documenting the planting of the tree!

The story is a cute tale about being environmentally conscious and aware of the world around us. In this first book, the Greenzys meet Orinda, the world’s oldest living tree. When they discover she’s in trouble, they agree to help her – but not before they learn the importance of being green. The book is made in an eco-friendly manner, with FSC/SFI/PEFC certified paper and board with soy based inks. The book is printed in The United States, which also reduces the carbon footprint.  They have 8 animal characters – and for review we received Violet the Giraffe.  These animals are super soft and cuddly – an I like knowing that Violet is made from safe and sustainable materials.  My son renamed her “Johnny” though… I guess he had his own ideas!

The Greenzy’s books and characters debuted in FAO Schwartz and on FAO.com on April 5th.  But you have a chance to win one of these cuddly guys for yourself!  What a nice Earth Month treat!

Mommy Likes b.box Essential Baby Box (Giveaway)

The Essential Baby Box by b.box

I want to introduce you to a great product by b.box. Any mom will tell you that changing a diaper while out and about can turn into an ugly scenario in a heartbeat.  You have the baby on one of those gross Diaper Depot’s at the store and you’re digging around in your diaper bag for a diaper, the wipes, all the while baby is wiggling around and you are trying not to get poop on everything you touch when you realize you need a little diaper cream and you have one hand and your bag fell on the floor and a toy slipped out…. you get the idea and I am pretty sure you have all been there!

The Essential Baby Box eliminates this whole “digging around for” situation by making everything you need ready and available in one compact case.  The box looks much like a portable wipes box but it is so much more.  You open the box up and inside you have a clean wipe-able mat to lay baby on.  On top of that, a spot for diapers and a flap to hold them in place. I also fit a good size tube of diaper cream in there too.  The other side holds your wipes, which are accessible from both inside the case and also when the case is close you can rip out a wipe for those nose pickers or sticky hands when you need one in a pinch. The Essential Baby Box is BPA, PVC and Phthalate free and made of durable and washable materials like polypropylene.

Want to hear something gross? For my baby shower my mother gifted me with a most fabulous Coach diaper bag. With it comes a tri-fold mat to change your baby on.  Nice right? No…it’s a fabric pad and image baby poop + wiggly baby on fabric with a foam core = ew.  Needless to say that’s long gone.  In it’s place is a Baby Box.  For review, b.box sent me their Essential Baby Box in the Falling Leaves design.  Before, I carried a big changing mat, a diapers and wipes bag and had diaper creams and balms floating around in my bag in various compartments.  Now it’s all secured up in one place which takes up a third of the room in my bag, not to mention my diaper bag weighs less now too.

Get Your Own: You can purchase b.box at Green Mom Place!

WIN IT!

One lucky reader will get a b.box Essential Baby Box in Falling Leaves from Green Mom Place

Mommy Likes Baggino’s Learner’s Bib (Giveaway)

Baggino's Learner's Bib

Is your kid a messy eater like mine?  My first son wasn’t so bad… I never needed more than a good bib and a wet washcloth to get through a baby food feeding. My second son though – food gets everywhere.  On him, on the, on the tray, on the floor, and on ME. But the biggest pain of all is having to change his entire outfit every time he eats.  That was until I checked out Baggino’s Learner’s Bibs.

Baggino is a company started by a mom and dad who travel a lot.  They started to design baby gear that made traveling (or not traveling) with kids a little easier.  They have designed amazing travel diapering bags/belts (they are really pretty genius) as well as their award winning Learner’s Bib.

For review I received a Baggino Classic Learner’s Bib in light blue.  There are several things I love about this bib.  One, it’s really soft.  Like cuddle want to sleep in it, soft.  Two, it fits baby perfect and has plenty of room for him to grow into the sleeves.  I am fairly certain he’ll be able to wear it well into his terrible two’s.  Three, it has great coverage.  No more stripping baby naked for meal time.  You slip the Learner Bib on and he’s protected from mashed peas and spaghetti sauce all the way to his knees.  It’s lightweight so he won’t get hot in it either.  Plus he’ll looks cute.  See?

Get A Learner’s Bib: You can pick up one of these great bib’s online for $12.50 at Baggino.com!

WIN IT!
